Wau (pronounce as “wow”), Malaysia's most popular and famous kite, is the moon kite known as Wau Kite and cat kite known as Wau Kuching. Wau Kite is flown by farmers on leveled ground after post-harvesting season.
Wau Bulan Kite is one of Malaysia’s National Symbols and is seen on the logo of Malaysia Airlines (MAS).
Wau Bulan got its name from the crescent-like shape of its tail, given right colour, Wau Bulan does resemble a rising crescent when flown.
